AI Use Guidelines for the Interview Process
At Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS), we understand that AI can be a helpful tool during the interview process. We even use AI ourselves in very specific ways to work more efficiently. But we also really value what you bring to CFS and want to learn more about you during this process. So, here are some tips for using AI when you’re applying for a job with us. Keep in mind that this isn’t a complete list, and we hope you’ll consider the spirit of these principles.
Do’s
- Writing assistance: AI can be helpful when it comes to general structure and proofreading things you write (like emails, resumes, cover letters, and presentations).
- Research: Feel free to use AI to research and prepare before an interview. Look up information on the role, responsibilities, industry field, fusion, and more.
- Interview practice: Before your interview, you’re welcome to use AI to find sample questions and practice your answers..
Don’ts
- Live interviews: Please do not use AI to help you in live interviews (for example, giving you answers and scripts for real-time questions) whether the interview is on Zoom or in-person. During your interview, we may be using AI to check the originality of your answer.
- Assessments: Please don’t use AI to complete pre-assessments (like coding challenges, take home interview tasks, or essays). We won’t accept answers that are directly copied and pasted from AI.
- Copy and paste: Please don’t directly copy and paste AI answers for any hiring materials, including but not limited to cover letters, presentation content, and other written materials.
