We will bring clean fusion energy to the world from our campus in Devens, Massachusetts.
Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is on track to bring clean fusion energy technology to the planet. CFS is collaborating with MIT to design and build fusion power systems that will provide the world with limitless, clean fusion energy to combat climate change. To support this mission, CFS has established a campus in Devens, MA. Our campus will be home to the birthplace of commercial fusion energy and includes manufacturing facilities, a research facility, and CFS corporate offices. Our SPARC facility will be home to a compact fusion device that will prove fusion can work as a commercial energy source for the first time in history. This device is not a power plant, but will pave the way for the first fusion power plant. Our advanced manufacturing facilities build components for this fusion device as well as components for future fusion power plants. Our Devens campus has already created hundreds of jobs, while also attracting global interest and bringing new economic development to the Devens area.
CFS is attracting talent to live and work in the region in addition to providing job opportunities for the local workforce. Since its founding in 2018, CFS has grown to more than 550 team members, 330 of which work in Devens. CFS is actively engaged in the local ecosystem and is proud to be part of a growing clean energy sector in Devens. In our first year on the Devens campus, CFS supported the Devens Farmers market and has been working with local partners, suppliers, schools, and non-profit organizations.
CFS has been responsible for the creation of hundreds of well-paying jobs, including construction jobs.
CFS has partnerships and programs with local communities and schools to encourage STEM education. If you are interested in having a CFS team member speak at your school, please fill out this form or contact our Community Relations and Local Government Affairs Principal for more information.
